Monday Blahs

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again… I. Hate. Meetings. At least, this was my last one for a while, since my last day of working at the HBCU is Wednesday. And it kind-of scared me that one of the ladies that I’ve been working closely with on a project didn’t even know that they weren’t renewing me again. But the meeting today clocked in at just under 3 and a half hours.

In Which I Show my New Age-y Roots

My head isn’t very fond of me this morning. One of my friends from college, Keith came over for dinner last night, and I drank a little too much. Now, I have a beer with dinner, but we ended up staying up which increased my drinking rate, watching Friday’s Doctor Who episode, and then turned around and watched Young Guns, which I had forgotten has some really cheesy dialogue. I loved that movie when I

Catching Up With Jericho

I’m finally getting a chance to catch up with most of my season passes, including Jericho and CSI, since Elizabeth’s decided to listen to her Disney CDs in her room while she’s playing. I’ve said it before, but I adore post-apocalyptic stories, and Jericho just suits the bill perfectly. I’ve read some not-so-kind reviews of the show, complaining about bad writing and incorrect real-life situations. But you know, I just can’t care, since every time

Squeaking in

I’m squeaking into Monday’s NaBloPoMo entry. Not much, but this is it. I’m too busy trying to catch up on my wordcount for Nanowrimo. Sick of acronyms yet? Tomorrow, look for a Blogging for Books Entry.

Sunday Afternoon

I was up far too late last night trying to update my wordcount on my Nano novel, and I’ve been paying for it all day. Elizabeth and I went over to my grandmother’s house this morning, then came back to pick up BabyDaddy and get over to Lenox Square for Elizabeth and her cousin to ride the Pink Pig. (Click the link, otherwise you’ll go into this as clueless as I was) And now, I’m

All Work and No Play

Saturday is traditionally a day that I don’t post to the blog, but I’m trying everything to remember to do it because of NaBloPoMo. Saturday is my “slam all my errands into one day” day usually, though that’s been thrown to hell since Elizabeth’s birthday two weeks ago. My laundry that needs to be done weighs more than her at the moment, and we’ll soon be eating the last box of Mac N Cheese if

The Cold Has Numbed My Brain

For any of y’all coming over from the NaBloPoMo listing, welcome and grab your beverage of choice. I’m getting a goodly amount of hits from the randomizer, which is pretty cool. As most mornings, I was thinking of what I was going to write here on my walk from the train station to the campus, though this morning it was a little difficult to stay on task because it is so fucking cold. I came

Isn’t She Pretty in Pink

Principal: If you give off signals that you don’t want to belong, people will make sure that you don’t. I’m wearing a vest today, which on my walk from the train station to school this morning made me think about some of my fashion choices in the past. The vest I’m currently wearing is on the tight side, but in that respect, I’m a true believer in accentuating my chest to make people not look

Day One – For Lots of Things

Ok, so my Nano blog is labeled, “Why Do I Do This To Myself?”, right? And, then I went and signed up for NaBloPoMo too, because I hate love myself Just. That. Much. This morning has already been chock full o’ stress, from finally remembering to get my student loan payment in the mail, then a trip to the bank ATM to deposit checks, go pick up my monthly MARTA card and finally on the

No Such Luck

Well, I got turned down for State School Research Center this morning, which doesn’t really surprise me, but it is still a little painful to acknowledge. I do have an interview on Friday, though, with a marketing company. It’s a permanent gig, and within my price range/compensation range, so we’ll see. Sometimes I hate being bipolar… I’m getting inordinately upset about that job, and I already had it in my head that I wasn’t going
